I am a Senior Systems Engineer for the U.S. Navy, and I work on providing Department of Defense (DOD) customers with state-of-the-art Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) solutions.

I have a B.S. (1990) and M.S. (1998) in Computer Science from San Diego State University (SDSU).

From 1985 until 1999 I was a serious Apple Macintosh user/developer/integrator. In 1999, I switched to Windows NT; and have a great deal of experience on Windows 2000/2003 Server, Windows XP, Tablet PC, Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.. I am however not completely Windows centric, as I have several systems running Ubuntu/Kali, Mac OS X, and a collection of Virtual Machines for security testing & research.

On the mobile handheld side of things, my experiences includes: Newton, Psion, Palm, Windows CE, Pocket PC, Windows Mobile, Android, and Apple iOS.

I have held technical positions as: developer, database designer, systems analyst, systems integrator, systems engineer, systems architecture, and project manager.

My primary hobby right now is podcasting via: I have four main podcasts under production (some more than others): (@chvrchespodcast); (@technewsradio),, and I'm also publishing periodically to and

On the personal side (@sholden): I am married, and I have wonderful three kids. We currently live in San Diego County in Southern California; and worship at Christ Lutheran Church La Mesa.
