Google 3D Map Advertising Thoughts

Dann Sheridan had an interesting observation recently about a potential Google Earth advertising opportunity.

It triggered my memory on a question I had a while back that was similar. My thought was based on noticing that Google 3D Warehouse City Collection has a good number of virtual buildings built by Google.

Is Google poised to put in virtual ads within a building based on map searches that lead to virtual tours?

Movie Recommendation - Thank You For Smoking

I have to echo Reel Reviews Radio's recommendation for the movie Thank You For Smoking

Based on the podcast review, I ordered it from the library on Thursday and picked it up on Friday.  Christy and I watched it on Friday night.  It was very enjoyable and funny.

Manager-Tools Conference Summary Live Show Annoucement

I'd like to announced that I am going to be joining fellow FriendsInTech.com member Douglas E. Welch, host of the excellent Career Opportunities podcast, for a Talkshoe Talkcast on Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at 9PM EDT/6 PM PDT.

The subject of the Talkcast will be a re-cap from my recent attendance at the Manager-Tools.com's Effective Manager Conference held last week in Washington, DC.

Internet Radio / Streaming Issues

I haven't been following this story very closely but I just read this article at CNN because it had a picture of Rusty Hodge (Grove Salad) who does Soma.fm which I do enjoy from time from time.

It looks like some changes in the royalty business and regulatory oversight that makes doing future Internet radio/streaming very difficult.

From a technical standpoint I think this is going to bleed over to podcasting, since a lot of listeners are effectively streaming from website links.

More info from the Pandora Blog also on this topic, that links to some resources to help fight these changes.
